Pila processes documents on your device. It has no document account or automatic cloud storage. You control sharing, manual backups and device transfer.

What stays on your device

Images, thumbnails, names, signatures, OCR and unfinished drafts are stored in Pila’s private storage. Text recognition is bundled and runs locally. The scanner may need an initial Google Play services download. Read-aloud uses an installed offline voice; without one, no text is sent to an online voice.

Documents can leave the device when you share, export, create a ZIP backup or authorize Android device transfer. A cloud provider selected by you follows its own policy. Automatic cloud backup is excluded. Android 12 and later may transfer documents and drafts during device setup; older Android versions use manual ZIP backup. Purchases are restored through Google Play.

Uninstalling removes private app data, not exported copies. Previous image revisions used for failure recovery are removed during the next app process’s first document operation; they are not an editing history. Temporary exports are cleaned after a day on a subsequent launch.

What we collect

Google Analytics for Firebase receives product events and counts. Its SDK may also collect identifiers, device information and approximate location. Pila’s event fields exclude document content, names and paths.

Automatic sending of Firebase Crashlytics reports is disabled in this revision. The SDK may retain reports locally, including across restarts; disabling sending does not delete them. Pila does not explicitly request sending pending reports. Enabling collection in a future revision could send them. Exception messages may contain private details.

Google AdMob provides native ads and optional rewarded OCR in the free version. Requests require SDK readiness and UMP eligibility; Pro disables them. Interstitials are disabled. If rewarded advertising is unavailable, the requested OCR remains available. Existing OCR results never require another ad. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and device data. Where applicable, change consent in Settings → Ad preferences.

Google Play Billing handles payments; Pila does not receive payment card details.

Your choices

You can delete documents, remove exports from their destinations, use Pro without ads and manage advertising choices in Android and Pila settings. Deleting a document does not remove copies you previously shared or backed up. Pila has no document account; analytics identifiers may still distinguish app installations.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and serves its fonts locally. It is hosted on Hostinger, which may retain standard server request logs.

Children

Pila is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
